George Hughes, Owner
The owner, George Hughes, received his Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts from VCU in 1991. Completing several renovation projects in the Fan District paved the way for George’s college education, and taught him early on the difference between poor and long-lasting painting. In addition to his own personal experience, his family boasts a proud history of carpentry renovation.
These experiences, combined with a formal education in artistic painting and chemical properties of printmaking, position Hughes Painting Company as a premier painter in the area.

We emphasize the preparation process for every project.
The most important procedure in painting is what happens before the paint is applied. Good preparation on an exterior surface will increase the longevity and extend the protection. On an interior surface, extensive preparation produces a smoother and more refined quality appearance.
While the prep-intensive method usually requires more initial labor costs than many competitors, it will increase the amount of time between painting projects and help protect your home.
